    I.E. explorer Stopped working....

....my parents Laptop (Windows Vista) when they try to access the browser IE (recent version), it gives an:

""Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." "

DUH...I sat there waiting for the computer to notify me, but it never did......that's weird. Why didn't it notify me of a solution??

    And then the browser closes.

    What gives?

My parents have a TOshiba laptop

I saw this solution here, not sure if anyone would Agree with it

I helped my neighbor out with a similar problem this week. His issue was the Yahoo toolbar crapping out. I unisntalled all the Yahoo crap and it worked like a champ after that. So, it is most likey a problem with one of the IE plug-ins.

Like Obi said, add-ons are the most popular cause. Here's a link if you'd like to read more before fixing.

Run IE in its 'No Add Ons' mode:
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools

Then you can disable any add-ons such as that horrible Yahoo toolbar or other crap toolbars, then narrow it down to which one is causing the lockups.

Yeah, but if that computer doesn't have IE working, you need IE to go to the site to download the FTP software right?

                    open a cmd prompt....type ftp ftp.mozilla.org cd to /pub/mozilla.org/

if you get a login prompt login as anonymous with a password of an email address. It doesn't need to even be a real email address just something in email addy format like sdhz@gdsa.com Poke around using cd and dir to find the right file and directory. You do realize that before the web graphical interface everything was command line right?
