    stupid question

I just bought my first LCD monitor. Its a samsung syncmaster 220wm. 22in widescreen. I cant seem to get the autosync button to work...It just say auto adjustment not available? Any ideas on whats up with that? Also the monitor has built in speakers....but I already have a speaker system...so what do i do with the speakers that are in the monitor? I did get a great deal on this monitor I think. I got it for $190 bucks plus it came with a 20 dollar giftcard!!

just leave autosync alone. its used for older video cards. as far as he speakers? well, either adjust the speakers you have so they are used as rears, and the monitor ones as fronts, or do as i do. leave the unplugged. 9/10 times they are the cheap crappy ones, that'll usually blow after about 6 months.

    GReat deal though! Woot!

autosync, or actually in this case Auto Adjustment, is not available when you plug your monitor in via DVI. Its only used when you plug it in with analog (D-SUB/VGA), because VGA is an analog signal that must be reconverted to digital to display properly. You can adjust that manually, or auto adjust it to what the monitor thinks is best.

Again, running DVI (since it's a completely digital connection), its not used at all, and therefore of no concern

and +1 to darth's comments about monitor speakers.....don't think I've seen any aside from the occasional TV/PC Monitor combo that had anything but total crap sound.

Congrats on making the jump to the magical world of LCDs!

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
