          Win 8.1?
Besides one laptop and myself all devices on our network (main use, also 3 xp machines but hardly used) are win 8 now.
Wonder what everyones thoughts are on win8?
I do like my win7 but only cos its pretty lol (yes its that again)
I hardly use the start menu anyway so wont miss it.
And 8.1 pro (i remote desktop my pc alot) is an ok price.

I think apache runs it. I have a windows phone and find it works great for the things I use. Not sure how useful it is without a touch screen though... for the tile interface that is.

I have Win 7 on all of my computers except one that does run Win 8. I do not use it much since I prefer Win 7. Someone on the forums was having trouble running BF4 on Win 8.1 and had to revert back to 8.0.

I'd go with 7 personally. If you forced 8 onto me I'd definitely have to disable the childlike interface and get my start menu back.

                Touch screens, yes. Monitors, no.

Think that was Henry. Win8 is supposed to give better performance in BF4, but I'd take this hit and use 7 still lol.

Plus Mantle will hopefully make up the difference.

Pretty win7 os it is then hehe

8s not bad, the metro ui is qwerky to get used to, but it does flow good.
Extra un needed movements and clicks but expected from a hybrid touch point thing.

I know from scotts laptop it just looks flat and ugly to me

Yet its supporters say that it's much more efficient and take a lot less actions to get the same work done.

Most day to day stuff, opening progs, shutdown etc aye.
Its the non day to day stuff i find it clunky on scotts laptop.
But suppose its like everything else, use it enough you dont care.
