To be announced officially tomorrow, AMD will spin off its factories into a new joint venture with investors in the Persian Gulf state of Abu Dhabi.
This will shore up AMD's finances and let it focus on the design and development of computer chips. The new venture, to be based in the U.S. and for now called Foundry Co., will include AMD's manufacturing plants, including two in Dresden, Germany.

Regardles of what you think of AMD's current performance from their CPU's, we need them to stay in business or else Intel would never offer any sort of competitive price cuts on its CPU lineup. AMD's stock is up to a very good level, so this will stop the bleeding for the time being.
How long until they are referred to as Arab Micro Devices ??? Ohhh, less than 30 minutes is my guess ..
