HAHA I have a little story.
My PC was decommissioned for about 5 hours. I was updating the EVGA 760 Classified motherboard bios. I know as they say, if its not broken dont fix it. When I did update the Bios, something went wrong with the OS (windows 7). I try the Windows repair and no go. I never did make a image of the drive or a back up. Lucky for me, Everything that I did need for cell phone list, passwords, online payments and such was updated on my USB stick before the Bios update.
I got on my laptop and newegg me and overnight a 1TB WD hard drive that will be here tomorrow. But my impatient got the best of me. It was 8pm and Best Buy close at 9pm. So I rush over almost 8:30 and bought a Seagate 500 GB for 69.99 on sale just to get me by for the next few days. Thank gawd for BestBuy. I miss CompUSA
I install the Seagate drive and install my old Vista ultimate OS cause I didn't want to deal with Windows 7 been install to many times with different drives. Windows Vista install went fine and next thing I knew, no Internet!!! I was like WTF what now. Took me about 30 mins before I figured out I need to install the network drivers for the motherboard. Download them on the laptop to a USB and install it. Everything works.
I then decided to try the Windows 8 release preview. Other then the flat colors of the start screen, its not bad. I didnt know it still have the good ol desktop. (took me for ever to find the turn off button, gonna see if I can pin it or something) Update a few other things like the Nvidia drivers and I was good to go. I was able to access my old hard drive with the HDD docking. So thats good to know.
The whole point in updating the Bios was I was thinking of getting a 240GB SSD. I have my eye on the SSD for the PCI-E
Newegg.com - OCZ RevoDrive X2 OCZSSDPX-1RVDX0240 PCI-E 240GB PCI-Express x4 MLC Internal Solid State Drive Its a older model but it will do fine. I understand the history of the OCZ SSD. The more I read on the RevoDrive for the PCI-e the more I think its probably not worth it. I wanted a Fast boot but from what I read, the RevoDrive take a little longer then the 2.5 SSD cause of it has to read its own Bios. Plus I cant find realword speeds of the read up to 740MB/s write up to 720MB/s. Speaking of fast boot. Holy crap Windows 8 is fast too! I need more time to think, I may go with the Samsung SSD instead. Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256B

IF you dont mind me asking, What type/brand SSD you have?
The prices on the 200GB-256GB rage has come down enough for me. Anything 300GB and over is still in a whole other ballpark. I figured I'll jump on the cheaper prices before something happens and prices goes back up.
I narrow it down to Intel 520 Series (240GB)Newegg.com - Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSDSC2CW240A3K5 2.5 and the SAMSUNG 830 Series (256GB) Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256B I notice the Samsung doesnt come with a SSD bracket but this Desktop upgrade does Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC256D Desktop Upgrade Kit Intel has 5 year warranty and Samsung is 3 years warranty.
Another thing I also took note is I probably wont see the near or at full speed read/write cause the EVGA E760 Classified doesn't have Sata 6Gb/s ports. The EVGA E770 Classified3 has 2 Sata 6Gb/s ports. This is why I was looking the OCZ RevoDrive PCI-e SSD. But pass few years OCZ hasnt been doing well. I'll accept with what ever reasonable read/write I get untill my next pc upgrade. As much as I am loyal to EVGA GPU and the mobos, EVGA X79 Series is horrible with hit and miss all over. I'll wait it out for a while or jump ship into something else.

I picked up a 240GB OCZ Agility 3 on a Newegg coupon months back. I got the laptop a few weeks ago so I'm sure there are better ones out now but it is amazingly fast.

I made my choice , but before I do, Why does newegg do this from time to time. My WD hard drive that I overnight arrived well and secured in side another box. Maybe I'm over reacting but looking it at the bottom of the box just makes me wanna say "awww"
My new toy
Purrty
Mine even comes with the little plate
I really wanted the Intel 520 Series, they both have great reviews and Intel does have a longer warranty. But had to make a choice. This my first SSD and I hope its worth it.
