Update for servers and adding China Rising

The upcoming PC game update will launch December 3, to coincide with the launch of the expansion pack Battlefield 4 China Rising for Premium members on all platforms.

The game update will start to roll out at 1AM PST/10AM UTC Dec 3, followed by the actual China Rising content around 2AM PST/11AM UTC. You can expect some downtime around these times as servers are being prepared to support this new content.

The change list for this PC game update is the same as previously announced (see below.)

As ususal, we will continue to iterate on stability and tweak the game based on your feedback. Stay tuned.

Dec 3 PC Game Update Notes
-Removed the blur effect on soldiers that appeared when Commanders were using EMP attacks
-Fixed the audio bug where audio sometimes randomly dropped out while playing on certain multiplayer maps (typically Golmud Railway and Hainan Resort)
-Fixed the "one-hit kill bug" where occasionally damage from a single bullet was applied multiple times
-Fixed a common crash that would occur when exiting from the Single Player Campaign to Main Menu
-Tweaked the network and computer performance screen to show proper values. Players can now test their computer and network connection and get recommendations if they need to adjust something to improve their gameplay experience

The first DLC is owned by everybody who pre-ordered. The advantage of Premium is early access. Cain will decide whether to switch early or not for Premiums. This will be based on whether the server stays busy.

I'd guess he will wait. I think most players here do not own Premium packages.

I'll probably run them, assuming most have these maps, if they are good so we get new stuff

          We shall see.

Cain, also with the sound bug fixed (kinda) and most of the crashing has been fixed, would it okay if the other maps like Golmund and Siege of Shanghai could be added in?

It will be more of a question of WHEN you put them in. If it is tomorrow we will fracture about 1/2 the people that voted on the survey I posted before http://www.cainslair.com/showthread....uy-BF4-Premium. While I want to play them I can wait 2 weeks to play them with everyone here.

                  Good to hear.

                  - No more stupid EMP effect (I believe this is left over from previous Frostbite engines)

                  - 1 hit bullet hits... About fucking time... You have no idea how frustrating it is when you simply pop a corner, take a quick shot, and the guy kills you instantly.... Last night alone on Operation Locker was a lot of it as I did a lot of pop lean shotgun blasts into Charlie stairs. I'd understand if it was a point blank headshot, but these most probably were not.
                  - Audio bug... how did this pass Q&A? .........
                  - Network performance. Honestly, I've had to make my own tweaks to make this game run smoothly, and I have a pretty solid system, and it'll get better once I get my RAM to 24Gigs in a few days. I'm tired of ghost kills rendering...

That won't do anything for BF4, or 99% of all available software.

So I've gotten more "rubber band effect" than before the patch.

The new maps are a pretty mixed bag.
They are all really big. All have big hills and/or mountains.
Guilin Peaks - really good - the best of the bunch I would say.
Altai Range - a good map.
Dragon Pass & Silk Road - are both just Okay - with silk being my least favorite as it is a desert map.
                      A change of Pace.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
