Can't patch!

I reinstalled Vista and now I cannot patch BF2 to 1.41! I installed BF2, then installed SF. Then I ran the 1.41 patch, and it only gets about 8% done when it errors out "Patching failed" I think it says. I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall today...

I don't know if it's the same thing, but I couldn't patch up directly to 1.41. I had to patch 1.3 first and then patch up to the 1.4. This was fun since the older patches are getting harder to find. Let me know if you can't get them and I'll post the files up on my site and make them available for you to download.

Never mind, I was thinking of CoD4 when I installed on my laptop. I even had to download patch 1.2

Well, I have given up, at least for the time being. I tried reinstalling a number of times to no avail. I searched the web, but the suggestions I found didn't help... I guess no more BF2 for me...

It sounds like your patch file that you downloaded may be corrupt. Try downloading it again from a different site.

I downloaded the patch a few times from different locations. It always stops at the same file. From my investigations, it appears to be a fairly common problem. I just found two more suggestions to try...
