But mp will get old for some really fast as some weapons and maps become redundant. ex. 1 map will have snipers and everyone is a sniper. Spawn run hide camp. I like it because there is no vehicles. Its skill vs skill.
I was excited until you mentioned snipers. I hate snipers, every game they find a way to piss me off.
But, seeing that nearly every game that's a FPS has sniper rifles, I'd give a thumps up to this game. I heard it's fun as hell on MP, and I'd definently like to give this a try

I have not tried any demo yet (mostly due to school being so demanding at the moment) but Kenshin and I have been looking at COD4 very eagerly.
Of course, the only real aspect that appeals to me is the multiplayer. If Cain doesn't put up a server, I'm not buying. And if he does, I'm in!
I've only seen videos on the game, but the perk system looks interesting, and seems to allow some sway in individual playing style.

Ditto with Tails.
It looks great! Quite a few reviewers have noted that the multiplayer is just amazing. I haven't tried the demo yet, but I might give it a go sometime soon.
A quick question, though... Tails and I are running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Processor (Running @ 2GHz each), and the recommend specs call for a dual core processor running @ 2.4 GHz. I was just curious as to how it would handle in a multiplayer match. I've been asking around a bit and from what I've been told, we won't really have a problem running it at medium-high... But, I wanted to double check here.

It's never easy, but people practice the hell out of themselves to get good with sniping, it's like shooting a fish in a bucket.

I'm all for this game, personally. I liked the SP... I don't know if it brought anything new to the table? It was just short and fun. The rest of this post is about the MP, sorry this is kind of long but I wanted to give a detailed review...
First: regarding snipers. Sniping in COD4 approaches masochism. Basically, it's really hard, and the way the maps are set up you have little to no range advantage over the assault rifles. In 2142 if I was taking fire, I could often find the target, scope, and squeeze off a headshot before dieing - even at pretty close range. In COD4 this is basically impossible. The scope sway is realistic, which means it's pretty wild. You have to stabilize every shot (if you want to make it quickly), and far away targets are still hard to hit even when concentrating. Moving targets are even more difficult (I've hit, but never actually killed someone running). My point: if you don't like snipers, you don't need to worry. Sure, some snipers will get very good, but the maps are very fast-paced, and you'll spend more time worrying about the guy around the corner with the SAW than snipers. That guy around the corner, btw, will probably be shooting you through the building (esp. if he has the bullet penetration perk), which is another interesting game feature.
Anyway, the MP is really where this game shines. There are quite a few maps and game modes, which require tons of different styles of play:
Search and destroy: No respawn, you're either defending or attacking 2 bomb sits (sounds familiar - but it's still fun). No respawn, as was pointed out earlier, means strategy or lose. Even though the rules are quite similar to counter-strike, I really don't think it feels like CS at all.
Sabotage: It's kind of like football, but with a bomb. Basically there are 2 bomb sites - one you defend, the other you attack. The bomb is always active until it detonates, so even if you plant the bomb, the enemy can defuse it and bring it to your bomb site, so it's a constant struggle and back-and-forth with the bomb. Once you plant it, you better defend it until it goes off. The match ends when the bomb destroys one of the targets (or the map time runs out). However, unlike TF2, most of the time one team wins (instead of the time running out and going to sudden death...)
Domination: Basically like BF2142's conquest mode, except the tickets count up to 250, and they count much faster so the rounds are shorter. Oh, and you keep spawning even if you lose all the flags, so you can still make a comback (although you have to take back the flags pretty quickly...)
Headquarters: This is an interesting one. Basically a spot on the map becomes the "HQ" for both teams, which they fight to capture. Once a team captures the HQ, they defend that point until the enemy team destroys it (caps it back). The defending team gains points every few seconds (match is won at 200 points), but once you die you don't respawn until the attacking team destroys the HQ. Once the HQ is destroyed, a new one forms. Basically you're running around the map trying to take key points, and either defending or attacking these points. It's interesting because your team only gets points when you hold the HQ, but your team can respawn, so you really have to work as a team to stay alive and hold it as long as possible.
Then of course there's free for all and team deathmatch. There's also a hardcore mode that's pretty tough - it takes away your map and your HUD (hmm, how many bullets do I have left?), but you do more damage.
I also like their rank system. From what I've seen, it's not as serious as 2142. There's no real pressure, so there's no point-whoring or stat-padding that I've seen. Basically, points unlock new weapons, perks and challenges. Challenges are kind of like TF2 achievements. Weapons challenges let you make upgrades (new types of attachments) or just show off (you unlock different color schemes when you make lots of headshots w/ a particular gun). Perks are like the extra slots from 2142. You have 3 perk slots, one is a weapon (extra flashbangs, RPGs...etc) and the other two are various effects, from more health or more damage to invisibility on radar to quick reloads.
What's really nice about the unlocks is they don't -totally- make the game. The stock guns are basically as good as the unlockable ones, and you start with 3 perks for each slot. Basically, if you have the skill a private can kill a general every time....
Anyway, to close this -long- review, I'm just sharing what I like about the game. I've tried both UT3 and Crysis, and this is the next game I'll be playing. I like TF2, but because there are so few maps I'm already getting bored with the gameplay. I liked 2142 even w/ only a few maps on the server because it was such a big world, with a lot of different things to do. TF2 was a fun change, but I'm read to get into a more complex battlefield...

I play more ambush and tactical...
I hope I buy the game and have some sniper challenge with you

Single player was fun. The best part of the single player was the AC130 missions and sniper mission. It is nicely done. The only drawback it is short.
MP is fun as well. lot of action and lot of fragging. what more can you want. Yes i wish there was ac130 mp mission but i guess that ain't happening :P
Consider this game more fun than the latest UT2007.

I haven't even touched single player....I don't buy games to play by myself
As far as the gametypes, Headquarters seems to be the most fun for me. It truely requires team play and strategy. As long as you are attacking, you can respawn as soon as you die. If you have successfully captured the headquarters and are defending....if you die, you don't respawn until the round(not map) is over and a new headquarters is assigned....this prevents stalemates. You receive personal points for killing(obviously), capturing/destroying headquarters, calling airstrikes/helis, calling team radar and the team gets points based on the amount of time you defend the headquarters. Game is won based on team points not personal points.
As far as snipers go, you can snipe but there are no places to hide.....because when you die, you are shown a short video of the kill from the killer's perspective so you always know where he/she is at. Those videos also cut down on the number of people yelling "botter" because they can see their own head getting blown up because they leaned out too far.
