heres a few suggestions i feel might help the hq server
1. smaller player limit: maybe a 12 or 16 man server
why?: less players = more strategy. with less players teamwork is more important. people dont camp in one area just racking up kills like its tdm. plus it might be easier to fill the server if it were smaller.. 6 out of 12 looks more appealing to a player than 6 out of 32. plus lately we havent really gotten more that 16 players at a time anyway so nothing would really change.
2. allow voting for new maps and kicking players.
why?: i've played on a few servers that allow this and i've never seen it abused.. if enough players dont like a map. then we can change it. if a player is cheating or using bad language we can boot him. like i said i've never seen it abused on other servers yet.. and the good outweighs the bad on this one i believe.
3. point limits on maps.
why?: i think its funner when u can actually win a map instead of waiting for the time limit to run out. this one might have to be tinkered with a bit to find the right limit to set so maps arent too short.. but it should be looked into.
4. get rid of shipment
why?: it really sucks when we get a good amount of people playing hq .. then shipment shows up and half the people leave cause they hate the map. personally i like shipment .. but enough people dislike it that it would be better to the server to leave it out. honestly the only good thing about shipment is getting gold weapons.. and thats about it
5. hq gets its own forum
why?: it suprizes me that alot of people dont even know u run an hq server. this would help more people know it exists. kinda like when there were ut2004 onslaught and ctf forums.
i make these suggestions because nothing has really changed on the hq server since cain started it.. its slowly dieing .. and if it goes then i probably wont play on cains lair anymore cause i hate tdm.. if you have any other suggestions please state them..
