    old profile! :(

I had been backing up my profile on a regular basis (or so I thought). I am doing a total system reinstall, and after I reinstalled COD4, I copied my Profile over from my backup HDD. I loaded the game and discovered that all of my stuff is old! From January in fact. So I lost some perks (I'm only lvl 46 now) as well as some attachments for most of my guns.

Backed my profile up to a spare PC this weekend. I also run a full PC backup server, but I have yet to test it ... how do you test a whole PC backup, really ?? LoL .. yea, I know how, but life is too busy to have spare time to actually TEST stuff, yanno ??

It is better to take the time and test stuff rather than being in an emergency situation where you are forced to use it and it doesn't work after all.

Got my updated profile back! I had forgotten that when you enable UAC in Vista it moves your profile to your Users folder. Before reinstalling VIsta I copied the Users folder over to my second HDD, so I still had the profile! Copied it over last night, and had everything back.
