Laggy tdm server

Whats with all the lag in the TDM server
Cant play the TDM server to much lag
checked my conection im 2.5 and 22 so its not me
Go into the tdm server and its got so much lag I cant play

probly a pc performance issue -- I can't play on the regular TDM cause of the amount of people running around and blowin stuff up, lol

Sorry went back in and played other servers just fine even Germany and the UK servers were fine


I wont play the HC server as long as its FF is set to reflect
Play HC all the time and if I find its reflect I'll leave just my preference

I'm out in phoenix (farthest from server U.S. side except for those in Cali more or less), and I get very little lag, even through the atlanta T3 routers.

Do a tracert and see where you're really lagging at.

There are some threads about this in our forums, but here are some things you should be considering as you post this question:

1. How you reach your destination determines the level of lag.
2. The quality of those services transporting your service request to connect with Cains Lair servers
3. The type of connection you have (T1, Cable, DSL, Etc)
4. The box components in your PC (Ram, CPU, Vid Card, Software, OS setup)
5. Anti-Virus/Spyware and Firewall Components


Contributing factors include:

Network updates (Steam, Punkbuster, Your ISP, etc)
Weather related issues (ever consider the hand-offs and exchange elements that are occuring thanks to the tropical storms and hurricanes? There are re-routes taking away from your hop points, or your natural hop has probably been altered)
Network Peak Values (ISP Peak value on demand effects ALL connections except the highest paid dedicated lines such as business T1 tier 1 services)
Software Updates
Background pollution by programs you have installed (Antivirus, Spyware, HP Bloatware, etc)

It would make sense to accept the situation, send us a note explaining you are having lag and would like us to look into it, rather than place the blame on a single source at the moment given all of the factors in the situation.

A few others (including myself) have noticed a higher ping in tdm, was something changed?

The ping is maybe higher but not difference here... It never lag.

My ping went from 37 the last time I played three weeks ago to now, a big 59-64. Not near as nice. I play through the lag, that's just me. Mosquitoes are more annoying to me.

On the HC server FF on is great Fury, enjoy.

well it put me from 70-80 to over 100.that makes a big difference.i live at the georgia alabama line and i can go on other servers that have a large capacity that are further from me.i get lower pings from the other servers.

well when I play in other packed servers, my PING is only 60. So it probably is teh server. But I just found out that the Cain's Lair server is on the East Coast. I'm on the west coast so that prob makes a difference. And don't forget, if you are a sniper you should already know there is immense smoke nade spam in TDM server. And I just played in HC last night...only 15 people but still get teh same ping. So it may just be teh servers fault.

Well, I lag, a whole lot, but my lag is noticeably more in the TDM server always because of all the extra peeps around throwing three nades all the time.

I would provide tracerts before making such statements. As you are likely going through the dallas T2 or atlanta T3 routers, both of which aren't exactly the best around and do provide quite a bit of lag.

along this line I have noticed it. It is fine then quite a few times when killing somebody, or just about to be killed, I lag. I see it in killcam, where I was moving then stopped and stuttered.

I'll be moving along then dead, and say WTF. Then see where I lagged out. It didn't used to do it so I'm not sure whats going on. During the day, I've also noticed my ping go from 60-80 all the way up to 130? Is that because of high-pingers being the majority of the server?
