Sorry all, not playing tonight. Watching 24 now, and spent the two hours before then running wire in my basement and trying to figure out how to connect Cat 6 and phone cord to the wall jacks (which requires slicing the jacks off the ends of the cables since it proved cheaper to buy pre-cut lengths, and rewiring them, which I've never done before. Fun stuff, if I don't screw it up. ).
Let me tell you, it would be a lot easier trying to figure this stuff out if they just had the colors right. The phone cords I have are either 4 grey wires, or 4 colored, with what looks like brown and orange--which of course are not on the jack key. I think they may represent black and yellow instead.
On the other side, the Cat 6 jacks have two sets of yellow/green stripes, and I think yellow is supposed to mean orange, and that by having them set up that way, they mean they're interchangable. Not the best of diagrams on the jacks.
And yeah, "cheap" cable companies usually change color or put strange nonstandard color on their pair, that is so a pain in the ... I made a wiring job la week in a local shop and the cable that the electrician guy pass into walls was so cheap that I can't event know what was the color of the white-strip wire... That was a pain, took me double time to do only 2 stupid connector because of that... Well don't care, I've been paid twice
Well, I'm personally used to do that kind of work, my job sometime required to do hit
Well, I finally made my back to the lair! I hope fortune has blessed everyone this new year! I've got some updates, dad (Todd98 )is over 60....yall send...
