So, recently ive been toying with settings trying to get smooth recordings of CS:GO, but i wasnt having any luck. as soon as i started recording, my fps would drop by 1/3 or more. (For instance, my last videos average at about 29-31 fps) I started toying with some settings and ive managed tocome to these conclusions:
-Multicore Rendering is a thing i MUST have on, I have a 8 core CPU and without it fraps hogs the cores that are running CSGO.
- I can record in 50 while i play in 60 fps
-Motion Blur actually stutters recordings rather than smoothing them due to the streaking effect- it forces more unsteady pixel to be captured.
-Shaders High and Very High make no difference on my recording
-Shadows murder recordings
-MSAA is not recommended unless you have a beefy gpu/cpu
-FXAA has a very light load I can afford to have it on
-Effect has a starngely large load and i actually have it on Low because of the frame stutters it was causing while recording (not while not recordiing)
-Custom skins do not affect FPS as far as i am aware, do not take my word on this.
I have a AMD 6670 as a GPU and I plan on buying a beefier card soon. I hope this helps if you want to record CS:GO, it definitely was a bit eye opening for me.
