[Scheduled Downtime] Forums - Update #1

Please note that tomorrow am and possibly pm (in the us) the forums will be down from sometime.

This downtime has been Scheduled for Sat 9th May.
During this period you may find the forums up then down again soon after,
this is normal behaviour, and if you encounter any uptime before the maintenance
has been cleared as complete, please refrain from using the forums.

We are going to carry out some essential updates, tweaks and other
various tasks that should help improve your experience here at Cain's Lair.

We apologise in advance for any trouble this may cause,
and point and laugh at those who get withdrawal symptoms

The only reason you will not have withdrawal symptoms is because you will be doing the updates.

<points at Sirex> Keeeeel it, keeeeeeeeeeel it!!! Don't change the IP address on me again, for some reason work blocks the top level domain name but not the IP address, and pinging adds an extra 20 seconds to my time to find the Lair that I can't afford!! Gimme my fix, gimme it now!!

This is because either:
1. Your admin is a lil slow on the uptake and does not know most websites you can access via the ip address,
if they are setup like ours and is not a shared box.
or
2. Your admin assumes that all the users of your network are thick and don't know what an IP Address is

Actually, I think they made a mistake Sirex. Or the admin is a closet CLR, lol. Cause any other forum, game site, comic, whatever that they have blocked they block both top level domain name as well as IP address, subdomains, etc. I, of course, assume that if it's not blocked and doesn't contain specifically blocked material such as exe downloads, pornography, etc, that I am allowed to access the site
