And yes Gene, UT4 as it is currently called, has been in pre-Alpha for many years now. First, forgotten about by the devs when Paragon was being worked on/release and now, Fortnite, which in the last year and a half or so sucked all the Epic non-engine developers from working on UT and other projects into the fold. Granted, Fortnite has been in development for around seven years. But now, here is something that will bring actual cash from players to the books. And it looks like it is paying off. Good for Epic on that, especially after they changed the Unreal Engine business model to free for developers to use, plus a percentage of sales of games/etc over a certain level.

UT4 on the other hand resembles somewhat little to 2k4 as younger devs have (IMHO) put their stamp on it. I wondered early on if it would become "Gears of UT3". Currently it seems it is kind of stuck at that stage. Epic is currently not answering forum requests for comments on status of the game.

I got one of those emails too.... Yayyyy...

For 9 years, I was playing EVE Online almost exclusively. But now, I'm getting back to shooters. Been playing a lot of UTIII lately, I see it has been changed quite a bit and works well IMO. I also got about 20 games on Steam and 10 or so on Origin. Really liking Titanfall 2. Just went through Rise of the Triad. Trying to stay away from Game Console ports to PC's, so many of them have crap controls. Also playing the newest Tomb Raider, some Need for Speed Games, Left for Dead 2, Dying Light, and a bunch others. I'm retired now and have bad arthritis so I hardly go out at all. I also have to take many breaks from the gaming as my left hand really hurts...

I recently was going to built a computer again after my old one died 2 years ago. Took a nice break where I didn't even have a laptop, I just used my phone. Thanks to all the jerks cryptomining, the price of everything is through the roof. So I decided on a pre-built rig from cyberpower (With some hesitance). Honestly, turned out great, and I finally have an octa-core. Just feels nice to say. Anyways...

Been lurking here for a month, looks like PC gaming is having one of its slumbers. I personally want to wait for the new BF, maybe it will bring everyone back again.

Sorry, I forgot. When playing anything, I now use the name MaxxOmega. Been using that for almost 10 years now. I even bought the domain name www.maxxomega.com cause I've been hoping to set up a web site just for fooling around and to see if I could do it.....

Is this real life?

I got this email, and it reminded me of a time in which I had a bunch of friends and we'd play video games together. I was single then, had some spare time, and even some disposable income.

Since I last played in The Lair, I got married, had kids, and now THEY play video games. Skylanders and Toy Story and Minecraft and PVZGW2 and a bunch others. Right now they're playing Lego Jurassic Park. I sometimes play with them.

Don't play too much anymore myself. I'm a busy executive type dude and work about 50-60 hours a week. Travel a good bit. A lot of gray in my beard. But I do find some time for some Madden 18 every once in a while on the Xbone. Crank up Civ V from time to time when I have a couple hours to kill. Haven't touched COD or BF in ages.
