Origin ID

Ive been trying to change my origin ID from an old one to my current forum name to no avail and its pissing me off because from what i have heard your soldier name will be the exact same as your origin ID (which is my old forum name). Anybody heard of this? Im really starting to hate origin with a passion

I agree. I dont want my name to be "KyleRiley" I want it to be "TheSilentAssassin" or something close to it. Might just create a new account with Origin and a new email just to do it cause I really dont care about veteran status unless there are perks.

i am also doing that if they patch it before BF3 comes out so you can change your name i will go back to my other account but im making a new email the only name close that wasnt taken was SIR-Rossy-CLR thats the best i could do.. i really hope they allow nicknames like steam so i can put it as just SIR Rossy....

As far as I can tell you cant. I spend an hour with customer support and they were saying things like "Your Origin ID will be your soldier name" "we do not have information on whether you will be allowed to change your soldier name based on your Origin ID". All I have to say is that Origin has a lot to learn from Steam. I also just created a new email in anticipation of Origin's failure.

At least steam constantly improved over time. Origin isnt listening to anyone which pisses me off. I really hope Origin gets their act together however unlikely.

Also just cancelled my preorder of Battlefield 3 to see if Origin gets their act together. If not then its new email and account time.

what i did was.. when i had my main EA/ORIGIN account corrupted.. i had them switch my main account games -> to my 2nd EA account. then when my main account recovered i had them switch it back to the original state. its a pain in the ass but it works.

also, for people who already preordered..dont cancel it..
just keep how it is..
make a new account and call origin to swap the accounts.
i mean if they did it for mine above. it shouldnt be a hassle for them to do it.
just give them an excuse like.. "Oh.. i dont use that account anymore cause i dont like the name" etc.

Strange. I have three names linked to my account. I am unsure how to select which one I am to use.
I have MikSchultzy for Master ID, Schultzy for Battlefield, and Styled for a different game.

Where's this EA account setting you speak of? I can't find that anywhere in the Origin app.

edit: I now know what you're on about. I went here,

And logged in and it lets you choose a persona. I picked {CLR}Juneau which is what i've used in BC2. However there appears to be 2 EA login websites as stated here.

On the first login site it shows all the names associated with my account however i can't change a thing. The second link takes me to the page that K changed his name.

Why do EA have two different login pages? And why do i get a gut feeling that the details from the first login where i'm Juneau4 is going to get used instead of the details from the second login where i'm {CLR}Juneau.
