Electronic Arts also announced Battlefield 1943, a new Battlefied game in the works at DICE and due to hit the store shelves this summer, for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Powered by the Frostbite engine, Battlefield 1943 offers 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. The first screenshots and a trailer have been added in our download area.

i'm def gonna buy it but the only problem i had is 24 players?!

i demand 64 per server!

I'm sure by the time it comes out, they will make it available for more players. I mean 24 is just too small for today's gamers. Unless the Multiplayer games are not Team Slayer/Deathmatch and are just Objective only. Then the 24 players makes sense but I believe that won't be the case here.

I was hoping for BF3 in modern era but hey, at least it's a Battlefield game. 3 maps and 24 players has to change though.

Yeah...

Modern weapons would be better for sure...but I've never gotten to play team based games such as BF2 with anyone from the Lair...should be fun.
