I know im late, but no, double tap does not work on single shot weapons. Its just as fast as you can click, so it would have no effect.

For me it depends on the map.

I play Crossfire FFA a lot and usually go with RPD/Grip/Deep Impact/Stopping Power.

The RPD is one of the most devastating weapons in the game (at least for me).

Run and gun with the shotguns. Perk 1- 3X Frags, Perk 2- Overkill (Pump Shotgun), Perk 3- Extreme Conditioning. I love getting in behind the snipers.

I love going with the shotty as well. You can "trench broom" four or five guys if you flank them real sneaky like.

The extreme conditioning also allows you to move away from your last kill quickly. You know he is going to come back and hunt you down.

Not fond of the ACOG, but to each his/her own. I can shoot just as bad with iron sights. (Or as good)

Found that I can get headshots with the assault riffles easier with the red dot then the ACOG, but I generally stay away from Iron sights as a handicap. When you're trained to use them, you generally can consider that an advantage.

I only like the ACOG on M4 carbines, and i don't use em much.

But running and gunning is the way i play. I can easily get some good scores with running + gunning with and mp5.

RPD with grip, double tap, penetration.
I will pretty much never lose a straight-line fire duel with this combo, unless I am stunned or wounded already.
