How do you read a book? I saw at the end of the vault part that I ahd read zero books. So while poking around I tried to read a few but all I could do was pick them up and I couldn't figure how to read them from the inventory.

You don't read books like you used to in Elder's Scrolls anymore, if you find any readable books you will only get a +1 to any skill.

And there hasn't been any official patches for Fallout 3 yet, only a couple of cracks to remove disk checks and stuff. If your game is freezing just go defrag your drives like good little PC gamers.

You need a named book to begin with. The "prewar scorched book" or the like don't cut it, so you can safely ignore them. When you pick them up, they'll usually be in your inventory, in the "aid" area. Just left click on them.

The comic book Grognak the Barbarian is a skill book, for example.

There's a perk that gives you an extra point for all skill books. I took that one and it's working pretty well. If you're still carrying around skill books and have some levels, try getting that perk first before reading your books for max effect.

I got my Athlon Duo Core (when the DUO cores first came out, and that processor cost me about 500.00), Core processor 4200+ (which is actually 2.21 Ghz...not sure how that works with the numbers, 2 gigs of ram... I DO have a 6800 Nvidia card

Will I have issues running it?

Look at Hammy, sporting the sexy nightwear. I sold Grady's undies for 200 caps to some bumpkin out in Girdershade. I think I have the parts to make the Shishkebob now, so I guess I should make one. I'm having fun with the little chainsaw knife though.

These toys are all about Weight. What can you afford to carry?

The shishkebab will take someone down in 2-3 shots
they run like little wailing children when they catch on fire, so the best thing to do is pull out a gun and put them down rather than chase them.

From the screens I have seen so far, the game really reminds me of Buglivion.

They even put the same weapons in there. F3 a Oblivion mod?



Are all the dungeons ahm facilities as sterile as in Oblivion?

I have played a few hours now. I have mostly been trying the quests out of Megaton but I have gotten to areas that require a bit more skill and firepower so I think my next session will concentrate on getting some heavier firepower.

So far so good.

This game is driving me crazy in a good way lol

I just put my missile launcher and minigun in a file cabinet in my house. Too much weight to lug around, which leaves me less for loot. I think I may have stuck a flamer in there too. I either need to take that perk to carry more weight (which I don't really want to do since there are better ones around), or carry fewer small guns and find 1 or at most 2 good big guns.

Oh, I've got a Fat Man launcher in there too, forgot about that one. I should dig it out just to see what a mini nuke does.

I finally figured out yesterday that I need the same type of weapon to repair existing ones, so now I'm just trying to find duplicates and keep my primary weaponry running. Can't find many combat shotguns though, so I have to pay to have that one fixed.

I have yet to build a weapon. So far all I have come across is that women at the supply shop in Megaton saying that she has plans for the rock it. I can't see the plans on the list of things to buy. Do I need to finish the research missions to get this?
